Description

The Maki Jig Jet is Major Craft's blade-fitted "wind-and-retrieve" jig, built for micro-baitfish patterns that jerk-and-slide jigs can't trigger. Controlling the jig's own action and relying purely on blade flash and micro-vibration gets bites from fish keyed onto slow-moving small bait, from mackerel and Spanish mackerel that strike from behind to rockfish and snapper that respond to tai-rubber-style presentations.

This 30g model is finished in Blue Pink Sardine, Green Gold Horse Mackerel, Live Sardine and Live Gold Mackerel. Its rear-weighted flying shape delivers exceptional casting distance and a fast fall, while the eye set perpendicular to the jig unites hook and blade on the cast for maximum range — the long body is well suited to Spanish mackerel and mackerel.

Information

The swimming action

A blade-fitted wind-and-retrieve jig that relies purely on blade flash and micro-vibration rather than a darting jig action, built to trigger fish keyed onto slow-moving micro-baitfish that a jerk-and-slide jig can't. The rear-weighted flying shape and perpendicular line-tie eye combine hook and blade alignment for long casts and a fast fall.

When to throw it

Effective on mackerel and Spanish mackerel striking from behind as well as rockfish and snapper responding to tai-rubber-style presentations, wherever fish are focused on small, slow-moving bait and ignoring standard jigs.

How to work it

Cast and let it sink, then work it with a slow, steady wind so the blade keeps ticking over -- avoid jerking it, since the appeal comes from the blade's flash and vibration rather than an erratic action.

The setup it likes

Suits a light-to-medium jigging or seabream spinning rod, a 3000-4000 reel, PE 0.8-1.2 braid and a 12-20 lb fluorocarbon leader.

Straight answers

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.

When does my order leave Japan?

Orders are packed in Japan and handed to Japan Post within 3 to 8 business days. You get a tracking number by email the moment it ships.

How long does delivery take?

Australia and the US: 7 to 14 business days on Standard or Economy, 2 to 7 on Express EMS. Europe and the UK: 10 to 20 business days, 3 to 7 on EMS. Every option is priced at checkout before you pay.

Will I be charged import duty or tax?

Australia: no duty on orders under A$1,000 and GST is already in the price. US: orders under US$800 clear duty-free. EU and UK: VAT is collected at checkout so nothing is due on delivery for standard orders.

Is it genuine stock?
