The swimming action

The Bottom Nyoro 37S is a small, rattling sinking hardbait built to wiggle down through the water column and along the bottom rather than swim on a level plane. The internal rattle adds an audible, vibrating cue to its rolling fall.

When to throw it

Aimed at stocked area-trout ponds, particularly when fish are holding deep or have stopped responding to lures fished higher in the water. A useful change-up when standard spoons and minnows are being ignored.

How to work it

Let it sink to the target depth on a semi-slack line, then work it with short lifts and drops or a slow lift-and-fall retrieve so the rattle and roll stay active near bottom. Very slow, patient retrieves generally outfish a fast wind.

The setup it likes

Suits an ultralight area-trout rod (UL–L power), a small 1000-size spinning reel and 2–3 lb fluorocarbon or nylon main line, fished direct without a leader.
