Description

The Jigpara Slow 20g carries the same three-hook set-up as the rest of the range: a front twin-assist and rear single-assist, both fitted with Japan-made original hooks positioned for a high hook-up rate. Its rearward-biased weighting keeps the flight stable on the cast, while the slim, asymmetric body flutters down in a falling-leaf action on the drop rather than dropping straight to the bottom.

A five-layer coating holds up under repeated casting into rock and structure, and the colour range spans kaimura (UV-reactive) live-bait patterns for low-light bottom work through to glow, zebra and gold-zebra finishes, suited to shore-based slow jigging.

Information

The swimming action

A three-hook slow-pitch jig with a front twin-assist and rear single-assist, both Japan-made and positioned for a high hook-up rate. The rearward-biased weighting keeps flight stable on the cast, while the slim, asymmetric body flutters down in a falling-leaf action on the drop rather than dropping straight.

When to throw it

Suited to shore-based slow jigging and offshore super-light jigging (SLJ), wherever a slow, natural falling action out-fishes a fast-sinking jig -- over reef, structure and drop-offs holding pelagic and bottom species, and especially in low-light or cooler-water conditions.

How to work it

Cast or drop, then work it with a slow one-pitch lift and let it flutter back down on a controlled fall, pausing to let the leaf-fall action play out. Most bites come on the drop, so watch the line closely as it settles.

The setup it likes

Matches a slow-jigging or light spinning rod (L to ML), a 2500-4000 reel, PE 0.8-1.5 braid and a 16-25 lb fluorocarbon leader, sizing up slightly for the heavier 50g and 60g weights.
