Description

The BamBluz Jig Slow 250g is the heaviest entry in Jackall's BamBluz Jig Slow range, a purpose-built slow-fall metal jig with an asymmetric body: one side bulges outward while the other is cupped. This shape slows the jig's fall speed and extends its hang time in the water column at depth, holding the lure in the strike zone for longer than a symmetrical jig of the same weight.

It is designed around slow-pitch jerk, high-pitch jerk, and jerk-then-fall retrieves, where the controlled fall between jerks is the main trigger. It comes fitted with a standard twin hook set, front and rear, and its extra weight suits deeper water or stronger current than the lighter weights in the range.

The swimming action

An asymmetric body, one face bulging, the other cupped, speeds the jig's transition into a falling posture while slowing the fall itself, extending hang-time in front of fish that won't chase a fast-dropping jig.

When to throw it

Boat jigging for pelagic species such as yellowtail and amberjack when fish are holding at a known depth and need extra time to commit, rather than chasing a jig that falls straight through the zone.

How to work it

Suited to slow-pitch jerking, high-pitch jerking, and jerk-then-fall retrieves, with the extended fall between jerks doing most of the work, so a patient, unhurried cadence usually out-fishes a fast one.

The setup it likes

Suits an offshore jigging rod matched to the jig weight, a jigging-spec spinning or overhead reel loaded with PE3-6 braid, and a fluorocarbon leader of roughly 40-60 lb depending on jig weight and target size.
