Description

The Flag Trap 120g is the heaviest jig currently listed in Jackall's Flag Trap range, using the same rearward weight bias and silicone rubber "flag" tail as the smaller sizes to give a smooth, fluttering fall and extra movement around the hook point on the drop and on jerks.

Flat-sided body panels add flash and a trickier action on the jerk stroke, and the jig is built for super light jigging (SLJ), with Jackall also fishing it for seabass.

Information

The swimming action

A weight balance set slightly rearward gives a smooth, fluttering fall, and a silicone rubber flag tied at the hook waves during the drop and on jerks to draw extra attention to the hook point.

When to throw it

Built for super light jigging (SLJ) sessions around structure and mid-water, targeting a broad range of species across depths; Jackall also fishes it specifically for seabass around similar structure and current.

How to work it

Work it with a jerk-and-flutter retrieve or a straight lift-and-fall, letting the flat body panels flash and the flag tie wave on each pause; the trickier jerk-stroke action helps trigger reaction bites.

The setup it likes

A light-to-medium SLJ rod rated for this jig's weight, a 2500-3000 size reel, PE0.6-1 braid and a fluorocarbon leader suit this style of jigging and the broad range of species it targets.
