Information

The swimming action

The Honey Trap is a sinking pencil built around a lively S-shaped slalom action on a steady retrieve, with a dead, unsettled sway that stands out from a typical straight-swimming minnow.

When to throw it

Suited to harbours, tidal flats, river mouths and rivers when seabass are keyed onto small baitfish, and a useful early-season or warm-water option for calmer, shallower water.

How to work it

Work it on a steady, moderate retrieve to keep the slalom action ticking over, easing the pace to fish it shallower and picking up speed to add urgency to the sway.

The setup it likes

A 7–8ft ML spinning rod, 2500–3000 reel, PE 0.6–1.0 line and a 10–16lb fluorocarbon leader cover this size range.

Straight answers

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.

Orders are packed in Japan and handed to Japan Post within 3 to 8 business days. You get a tracking number by email the moment it ships.

How long does delivery take?

Australia and the US: 7 to 14 business days on Standard or Economy, 2 to 7 on Express EMS. Europe and the UK: 10 to 20 business days, 3 to 7 on EMS. Every option is priced at checkout before you pay.

Will I be charged import duty or tax?

Australia: no duty on orders under A$1,000 and GST is already in the price. US: orders under US$800 clear duty-free. EU and UK: VAT is collected at checkout so nothing is due on delivery for standard orders.
