Information

The swimming action

The Honey Trap is a sinking pencil built around a lively S-shaped slalom action on a steady retrieve, with a dead, unsettled sway that stands out from a typical straight-swimming minnow.

When to throw it

Suited to harbours, tidal flats, river mouths and rivers when seabass are keyed onto small baitfish, and a useful early-season or warm-water option for calmer, shallower water. The lighter Karutora versions fish the shallowest end of that range.

How to work it

Work it on a steady, moderate retrieve to keep the slalom action ticking over, easing the pace to fish it shallower and picking up speed to add urgency to the sway.

The setup it likes

A 7–8ft ML spinning rod, 2500–3000 reel, PE 0.6–1.0 line and a 10–16lb fluorocarbon leader cover this size range, sizing up slightly for the 95S.

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.

How long does delivery take?

Australia and the US: 7 to 14 business days on Standard or Economy, 2 to 7 on Express EMS. Europe and the UK: 10 to 20 business days, 3 to 7 on EMS. Every option is priced at checkout before you pay.

Will I be charged import duty or tax?
