Description

The PowerBait MaxScent Chigger Craw 4inch (Berkley 4-inch Chigger Craw) is a craw-style soft plastic built around Berkley's MaxScent material, which infuses taste and scent into the bait itself. The maker describes the wide claws as producing a wave action that is neither too strong nor too weak, with the design meant to draw fish in on the fall and get eaten on bottom contact.

Berkley lists no-sinker, Texas rig, leaderless drop shot, jig trailer and free rig as suitable ways to fish it. This listing stocks the BLR (Black Red Fleck), YC (Yummy Craw), GP (Green Pumpkin), OCC (Okeechobee Craw), SC (Summer Craw) and Alabama Craw colourways.

Information

The swimming action

Wide claw-style arms fold and kick on the fall and retrieve, while six antennae add fine micro-vibrations that keep the bait sitting stable rather than tumbling as it settles.

When to throw it

Best worked around rock, laydowns and grass edges where bass key on crawfish, particularly in cooler water or during pre-spawn and post-spawn periods when craw forage is active.

How to work it

Rig weedless on a Texas rig or thread onto a jig as a trailer, then drag and hop it along bottom, pausing on any contact with cover to let the claws flare.

The setup it likes

A medium-heavy baitcasting rod, a 7.1:1 reel and 15–20 lb fluorocarbon give the leverage needed to pull fish away from cover after the bite.

Straight answers

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.

Orders are packed in Japan and handed to Japan Post within 3 to 8 business days. You get a tracking number by email the moment it ships.

How long does delivery take?

Australia and the US: 7 to 14 business days on Standard or Economy, 2 to 7 on Express EMS. Europe and the UK: 10 to 20 business days, 3 to 7 on EMS. Every option is priced at checkout before you pay.

Will I be charged import duty or tax?

Australia: no duty on orders under A$1,000 and GST is already in the price. US: orders under US$800 clear duty-free. EU and UK: VAT is collected at checkout so nothing is due on delivery for standard orders.
