Information

The swimming action

Dover46 Slow Sinking is a micro minnow pared down to a slow-sinking fall that reacts to the slightest change in water flow, drifting like natural food rather than swimming with an obvious action.

When to throw it

Built mainly for mebaru (rockfish) around rocky shorelines, with a secondary track record on seabass deep in winter; useful whenever fish are keyed on tiny baitfish, mysid shrimp or other micro-bait.

How to work it

Cast to a likely spot and work it on a slow retrieve, letting the lip hold a steady course; it can also be stopped and left to drift in place over a chosen spot to draw a bite.

The setup it likes

Suits a light rockfish spinning rod (UL–L power), a 2000-size reel and 3–5 lb fluorocarbon or 0.3–0.5 PE braid with a light fluorocarbon leader.
