Description

The Nissin ROYAL STAGE Tenkara Zen is a tenkara fly rod combining high operability with core casting performance for a light, quick cast and accurate presentation. A soft carbon solid tip gives a responsive approach to the target lie, while mesh carbon reinforcement through the lower section adds confidence when handling fish. The grip is a long, gourd-shaped (hyotan) premium cork handle, and the rod uses a machined aluminum upper ferrule with 97% carbon content; recommended tippet is 0.8-1.2 go.

This listing stocks the 7:3 action in three lengths: 3207 (3.15m, 7 pieces, 57cm closed, 65g), 3608 (3.60m, 8 pieces, 57cm closed, 75g) and 4009 (4.05m, 9 pieces, 57cm closed, 85g).

Information

The blank

The 7:3 taper puts more flex into the tip than the 6:4 Zen model, for a faster, more direct cast, while the same mesh carbon-reinforced lower section and premium cork grip carry over from the rest of the ROYAL STAGE Zen range.

What it's built for

Suited to tenkara fishing where a faster action helps punch through wind or reach a little further, while retaining fish-handling confidence for native trout.

How it fishes

Cast and drift with standard tenkara technique, using the faster tip for quicker hooksets on takes.

The setup it likes

Pair with 0.8–1.2号 tenkara line and a fine tippet, fished without a reel.
