Description

The Tachi Jigi Dojo Slow is a tachiuo (cutlassfish) jigging metal jig from Major Craft, purpose-built for a slow, controlled fall. A low-centre-of-gravity shape with a smoothed rear cuts through water resistance, sinking with a quick and stable falling posture so the jig shows itself off properly to finicky fish.

This 80g model is fitted with penetration-focused, Japan-made Tachi Jigi Dojo hooks (4-hook and assist hook), and is designed for automatic action on an easy jerk retrieve. This listing is presented in the Red Gold colourway.

Information

The swimming action

A low centre of gravity and smoothed rear section let the jig fall with a fast, stable, head-down posture rather than fluttering to the side. It sits still in the water column on the pause, which suits tachiuo's cautious, often soft bite.

When to throw it

Purpose-built for tachiuo (cutlassfish) jigging from a boat, worked through the water column where fish are stacked and feeding hesitantly. The 80g weight suits shallower marks or a lighter tide where a heavier jig would fall too fast to work properly.

How to work it

Drop to the bottom or the marked depth, then work it on an easy one-pitch jerk before pausing to let it flutter down again. Most bites come on the drop, so keep the line semi-slack and watch for the slightest tap or change in weight.

The setup it likes

A dedicated tachiuo jigging rod in the 4-6 power class, a small overhead or spinning reel spooled with PE1-1.5 braid and a 16-25lb fluorocarbon leader suits this weight.

Straight answers

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.

When does my order leave Japan?

Orders are packed in Japan and handed to Japan Post within 3 to 8 business days. You get a tracking number by email the moment it ships.

How long does delivery take?

Australia and the US: 7 to 14 business days on Standard or Economy, 2 to 7 on Express EMS. Europe and the UK: 10 to 20 business days, 3 to 7 on EMS. Every option is priced at checkout before you pay.

Will I be charged import duty or tax?

Australia: no duty on orders under A$1,000 and GST is already in the price. US: orders under US$800 clear duty-free. EU and UK: VAT is collected at checkout so nothing is due on delivery for standard orders.

Is it genuine stock?

Yes. Every item is genuine, sourced only through authorised distributors — never grey imports or marketplace resellers.
