Description

The Hayabusa JACK EYE MAKIMAKI is a straight-retrieve metal jig built around one idea: wind it in and it catches fish. Hayabusa tuned the blade's swimming action so that the angler's own retrieve speed changes the jig's motion, letting you adapt the presentation to conditions just by winding faster or slower.

A hologram-foil blade boosts flash, the body borrows a slow-jig-style profile so it falls slowly and holds fish on the hook to reduce missed bites, and an asymmetric "Switch Holo" finish flashes differently on each side for an instant visual trigger. A SABIKI-style assist hook with a skirt colour-matched to the jig is fitted as standard.

This listing stocks the 40g size in two colours: #14 Real Fish-Scale Chart Gold (Real Fish-Scale Chart Gold) and #3 Kaimura Aka Kin (Kaimura Aka Kin).

Information

The swimming action

The blade's swimming action responds directly to retrieve speed, so winding faster or slower changes the motion; a hologram-foil blade adds flash and the slow-jig-style body falls slowly, holding fish on the hook rather than shaking free.

When to throw it

A straightforward wind-it-in jig for casting or vertical jigging over structure and bait schools where a bright, flash-heavy profile draws attention from blue-water species.

How to work it

Cast and simply wind it back at a steady pace, varying speed to find what triggers bites that day; the asymmetric two-tone finish gives an extra visual trigger side to side.

The setup it likes

A 7-8ft ML-M jigging spin or baitcast rod, a 3000-4000 reel with PE 1.0-1.5 and a 20-30lb fluorocarbon leader suits this weight for casting or light vertical jigging.
