Information

The swimming action

An aluminium-foil insert flexes with the backbone to throw a realistic flash and a cracking, snapping sound, imitating the look and sound of a real baitfish rather than relying on shape alone.

When to throw it

A bass worm suited to clear or pressured water where flash and sound help trigger a reaction from fish that have seen plain plastics before. It suits the same cover-fishing and reservoir bank situations that UK and European bass anglers already use similar-sized baits for.

How to work it

Recommended for hobasuto (hover-and-stay) and midosuto (mid-depth stroll) presentations: work it slowly on a light jig head or downshot, pausing to let the foil flutter and flash. Keep light contact with the rod tip through the retrieve so you can feel takes without pulling the bait off its intended track.

The setup it likes

6'6 inch-7'0 inch ML-M spinning rod, 2500-3000 reel, 6-10 lb fluorocarbon. This gives enough backbone to drive trebles or a single hook home on the strike while staying light enough to cast the bait accurately all day.
