Description

The Evergreen Claw Motion 3 is a 3.0in (approx. 76mm) compact, high-density craw-style soft plastic bait weighing around 10g, packaged 7 to a bag. Designed by Evergreen pro angler Hideo Ebihara, it uses an ultra-high specific gravity body with a rear-weighted, teardrop cross-section so it falls straight through heavy cover without a sinker.

Rigged weightless for a backslide presentation, on a Texas rig, leaderless downshot, free rig, Carolina rig, or as a jig trailer, its claws stay tucked during the fall and flap open on a rod twitch to imitate a fleeing crayfish. It is FECO eco-tackle certified for use in JB and NBC tournaments.

Information

The swimming action

A rear-weighted, teardrop body gives Claw Motion 3 a fast, stable fall with the claws tucked tight; a sharp rod twitch flicks them open to imitate a crayfish flaring its pincers before they fold back in as it continues to sink.

When to throw it

Suited to bass keyed onto crayfish and other bottom-hugging forage, worked around rock, timber and channel edges where a bait that falls straight and stays compact through cover is an advantage.

How to work it

Fish it weightless for a backslide presentation skipped under cover, or rig it Texas, free rig, Carolina rig, leaderless downshot or as a jig trailer, twitching the rod tip to trigger the claw flap on the drop and during pauses.

The setup it likes

A medium to medium-heavy 6'6"-7'0" spinning or baitcasting rod with 8-14lb fluorocarbon suits most presentations, stepping up to a heavier baitcasting setup with braid and a fluorocarbon leader for flipping heavier cover.
