The La Tour® SHAD MR is a 60mm, 6.3g slow-floating (SF) shad crankbait from DUEL for freshwater bass fishing. It revives the profile of the brand's earlier HARDCORE SH-60SP shad with updated internals.

A magnetic tungsten weight paired with DUEL's magnet weight-transfer system delivers long casting distances (approx. 30m) and diving depth beyond 2.5m for wide-range searching. The friction lip design grips water for rapid diving and irregular, darting action while helping the bait deflect off cover. The build uses a center-balanced hook system and DUEL's Power Coat® finish.

When to throw it

Suited to wide-range searching in mid-depth water, letting anglers cover a lot of ground quickly to locate bass before switching to a more precise presentation. It also works well as a follow-up bait after a more aggressive lure has pulled fish in but failed to draw a solid take.

How to work it

A steady crank digs it down quickly to its running depth; deflect it off cover on the retrieve to trigger the erratic darting action that follows contact. Vary the cadence between casts, since the retrieve that draws strikes can change through the day as fish activity shifts.

The setup it likes

Suits a 6'8"-7' M crankbait rod, a 5.4:1-6.3:1 baitcast reel, and 10-14 lb fluorocarbon main line. A 6.3:1 to 7.1:1 gear ratio suits most retrieve styles for this bait, and a smooth, well-maintained drag helps protect hooksets on a strike close to cover.
