The Duel HARDCORE LG SINKING PENCIL 50 SINKING (ハードコア LG シンキングペンシル) is a 50mm, 4g sinking pencil bait whose natural swimming action brings more bites than soft plastic bait, running on a #12 hook with a #1 split ring, castable to a max of 40m, and working a 0 to 30cm depth range. It is effective for cautious fish that won't take a minnow.

It uses a New Magnetic Weight Transfer System (international patent) improved with a 20% more powerful magnet, giving super long casting distance and better action even at this light weight.

The Hardcore LG Sinking Pencil is a light-game sinking pencil whose natural swimming action is built to draw more bites than a soft plastic bait of similar size, helped by a magnetic weight-transfer system upgraded with a stronger magnet for long casting distance despite its light weight.

When to throw it

Effective on cautious, pressured light-game fish that won't commit to a minnow, suiting harbours, jetties and shallow inshore water where a subtle sinking pencil is needed. Overcast conditions and a bit of surface chop generally improve results, since the lure is less likely to spook fish holding shallow.

How to work it

A slow, natural retrieve near the surface plays to its strength; short twitches with pauses let it swim and settle without needing an aggressive action to draw a bite. Change the retrieve speed through the cast to find what triggers fish on the day, since preference can shift between sessions.

The setup it likes

Suits a 7'-8' L to ML light-game spinning rod, a 2000-2500 reel, PE0.6-1.0 braid and a 6-10 lb fluorocarbon leader. Back the drag off slightly for close-range work around structure, and check the leader knot regularly given the abrasive ground this style of fishing covers.
