When to throw it

A natural-swimming diving pencil aimed at wary or low-activity fish, suiting rock shores and open ground where a subtle, flat-sided dive presentation is needed over an aggressive popper. Overcast conditions and a bit of surface chop generally improve results, since the lure is less likely to spook fish holding shallow.

How to work it

A steady retrieve digs the flat side into the water for control; slow down over structure or add gentle sweeps to keep it diving and swimming naturally without an erratic action. Small pauses worked into the retrieve often convert a following fish that has not yet fully committed to the strike.
