Description

SWAT is TENRYU's SHORE-lineup seabass series built around the concept of an "evolved individuality" — versatility that keeps pace with ever-changing field conditions, refined through long-term field testing to distill only the elements actually needed on the water.

All models use an unsanded blank finish for efficient, no-waste action, with C.N.T. (Carbon Nanotube) composited into the butt section for a sharp casting feel paired with resilient, backbone-retaining bend under load. Guides are titanium-frame K-guides with SiC-S rings, with foot height tuned for smooth line release. The fore grip and reel seat use Nishijin-weave carbon pipe, with a knurled seat ring for grip even with wet hands.

This listing stocks the full SWAT spinning and baitcasting lineup, from the compact bay-area run-and-gun models up to the long-range rock-shore models built for hirasuzuki (flat seabass): SW842S-LML, SW922S-M, SW932S-LML, SW972S-ML, SW1072S-ML, SW1163S-M, SW1253S-MMH, SW842B-ML/M and SW932B-ML/MH.

Target species: seabass, including hirasuzuki on the rock-shore models.

Information

The blank

An unsanded blank finish gives SWAT an efficient, no-waste casting feel, with C.N.T. carbon-nanotube reinforcement in the butt delivering a sharp cast paired with resilient, backbone-retaining bend under load from titanium-frame K-guides with SiC-S rings.

What it's built for

TENRYU's SHORE-lineup seabass series built around 'evolved individuality,' spanning compact bay-area run-and-gun models up to long-range rock-shore rods built for hirasuzuki (flat seabass), refined through long-term field testing to keep only what's needed on the water.

How it fishes

Twitch and pause minnows around structure for typical seabass, or extend to longer casts and a steadier retrieve on the rock-shore models when targeting hirasuzuki in open, exposed water.

The setup it likes

Pair the bay-area models with a 2500–3000 reel on 8–12 lb line or PE 0.8–1.2, and the rock-shore SW1163S-M and SW1253S-MMH with a 4000-size reel on PE 1.5–2.0 and a heavier leader.
