Description

POWER MASTER Sand Walker is a 2026 full model change from TENRYU, positioned as a surf multi-purpose rod. It covers surf areas nationwide for flatfish, seabass, small-to-medium migratory fish and sea cherry salmon (masu trout), with a wider lure range than a dedicated seabass rod and lighter power than a shore-jigging rod — suited to sandy beaches, cobble beaches and rocky shorelines.

The higher-modulus blank improves casting distance while carrying over a flexible, fish-holding action that resists throw-offs in the surf line; C.N.T. (Carbon Nanotube) composited into the butt section delivers noticeable resilience under load. Guides are stainless-frame K-guides with SiC-S rings, and the grip uses a Nishijin-weave carbon DPS reel seat for a lightweight, balanced design.

This listing stocks the 3-model 2026 lineup: PMS1022S-ML, PMS1052S-M and PMS1082S-MH.

Target species: flatfish, seabass, small-to-medium migratory fish and sea cherry salmon (masu trout), including hirasuzuki and sea trout on the rocky-shore end of the range.

Information

The blank

A higher-modulus blank improves casting distance while carrying over a flexible, fish-holding action that resists hook throw-offs in the surf line, with C.N.T. reinforcement in the butt delivering noticeable resilience under load.

What it's built for

A surf multi-purpose rod covering sandy beaches, cobble beaches and rocky shorelines nationwide for flatfish, seabass, small-to-medium migratory fish and sea cherry salmon (masu trout), wider in lure range than a dedicated seabass rod and lighter than a shore-jigging rod.

How it fishes

Cast metal jigs, minnows or spoons across the surf and retrieve at a pace that keeps the lure searching just above the sand, using the lightweight Nishijin-weave carbon DPS reel seat for a balanced hold through long casting sessions.

The setup it likes

Pair with a 3000–4000 spinning reel spooled with PE 1.2–2.0 and a 20–30 lb fluorocarbon leader for surf and rocky-shore fishing.
