Information

The swimming action

The flat-bodied profile produces the S-shaped fall typical of a sinking pencil, combined with an irregular rolling wobble that reacts sensitively to waves, current and small eddies.

When to throw it

Suited to bay and estuary sessions where current is the key factor, especially when the baitfish present are deep-bodied species such as sappa, hiiragi, umitanago and aji.

How to work it

Work it with twitches and pauses to trigger the S-fall on slack line, letting current movement add to the flutter rather than forcing it with a fast retrieve.

The setup it likes

A ML spinning rod, a 2500 reel, 8-10 lb braid and a 16-20 lb fluorocarbon leader suit this estuary-focused pencil.

Straight answers

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.

Orders are packed in Japan and handed to Japan Post within 3 to 8 business days. You get a tracking number by email the moment it ships.

How long does delivery take?

Australia and the US: 7 to 14 business days on Standard or Economy, 2 to 7 on Express EMS. Europe and the UK: 10 to 20 business days, 3 to 7 on EMS. Every option is priced at checkout before you pay.

Will I be charged import duty or tax?

Australia: no duty on orders under A$1,000 and GST is already in the price. US: orders under US$800 clear duty-free. EU and UK: VAT is collected at checkout so nothing is due on delivery for standard orders.
