Description

ツムジ110F (Tsumuji 110F) is Pickup's 110mm wake bait, built to draw lanker-class seabass with its wake trail on a straight retrieve.

Despite its compact, easy-to-cast 110mm size, it produces wave action on par with Pickup's 120–160mm class lures — strong enough to cut through dirty water and appeal to seabass keying on large prey. A slow retrieve gives a natural wake trail; picking up to a medium retrieve brings out a stronger wave. Crossing a current seam breaks the track into an unpredictable "slip" (chidori) wobble that triggers strikes. A magnet weight-transfer system keeps casting distance, flight, and action response stable, paired with a 3-hook system for solid hook-ups.

Working depth is roughly 5–30cm below the surface on a slow retrieve, and 50–80cm on a medium retrieve. Length 110mm, weight 23g. The body is Pickup's proprietary buoyant bone material, chosen for sharper underwater action than ABS resin.

The swimming action

The Tsumuji 110F throws a wake trail on a straight retrieve that punches well above its compact 110mm size, and breaks into an unpredictable slip-style wobble when it crosses a current seam, a trigger seabass often can't resist.

When to throw it

Suited to seabass in dirty or coloured water and around structure where a strong surface disturbance is needed to draw fish keying on larger prey, despite the lure's easy-casting compact size.

How to work it

A slow retrieve gives a natural wake trail working roughly 5-30cm down; picking up to a medium retrieve brings out a stronger wave working 50-80cm down. Working it across current seams deliberately can trigger the erratic slip action.

The setup it likes

Suits an 8.6-9.6ft seabass rod in medium power, paired with a 3000-4000 size reel, PE 1.0-1.5 braid and a 16-20lb fluorocarbon leader. Set the drag firm enough to drive the trebles home on a big surface strike.
