The Shimano Stella 2500S is the finesse-to-light-spin size in Shimano's flagship Stella spinning reel family. Shimano's specification chart lists the 22 Stella FK 2500S at a 5.1:1 gear ratio, 4 kg maximum drag, 205 g weight and 12/1 bearings.
It suits premium light plastics, small hardbaits, finesse presentations and general estuary or freshwater spinning where smooth start-up, controlled drag and refined line lay matter. The shallow 2500S spool is a strong match for light braid with a fluorocarbon leader.
Best matched with: a light or medium-light spin rod, 6-12 lb braid and leader strength matched to cover.
