The blank

The 9999 Meister blank is a premium-grade ultra-light spinning rod tuned for high sensitivity, loading progressively through a fine tip so the lightest native-trout lures still load the blank on the forward cast. The Chimera edition shares the same taper and action as other Meister colourways.

What it's built for

Built for native trout fishing on small-to-medium mountain streams, where long, accurate casts under low branches and direct bottom feel matter as much as casting distance, covering yamame, iwana and similar stream trout.

How it fishes

Fish small spoons, minnows and hard lures with a slow, steady retrieve or subtle twitch, keeping contact through the sensitive tip to detect light takes and bottom contact in pocket water and runs.

The setup it likes

Pair with a compact 1000–2000 size spinning reel loaded with 2–4 lb fluorocarbon or nylon, running straight to the lure without a wire trace, and a light drag to protect fine tippet.
