The Owner Tougi Jig 50g is a 112 mm shore-jigging metal jig from Owner's Tougi (Tougi) series, weighing a true 50g and matched to a dedicated Tougi Hook #1/0. Like the rest of the range it draws on the casting distance, impact-resistant coating and curved swimming action Owner developed for the Gekito Jig series.

It's aimed at anglers moving into shore jigging for the first time as much as light-tackle regulars, and is built to work equally well cast-and-retrieved or fished vertically from the shore.

Tougi Jig carries over the casting distance, impact-resistant coating and curved horizontal-fall action developed for Owner's Gekito Jig line, in an easy-to-fish package built around a dedicated Tougi Hook.

How to work it

Works equally well cast-and-retrieved across the surface layers or fished vertically; let it fall on a semi-slack line to get the curved horizontal glide, then work it with steady jigging strokes.

The setup it likes

25-30g suits a 7-8ft L-ML rod, 2500-3000 reel, PE0.8-1.2 braid and 12-16lb leader; 40-50g steps up to an 8ft ML rod, 3000-4000 reel, PE1-1.5 braid and 16-20lb leader.
