Description

The Nishine Otonabee 48 is a 48mm, 4.4g sinking minnow named after Ontario's Otonabee River. It combines a front lip with Nishine's Tail Drive System for a dual-lip design that stays responsive even to small rod movements.

It's built for trout in streams and river smallmouth bass, and works across a range of water from small ponds to mountain streams, staying lively on slow or paused retrieves. It's supplied in seven colourways.

Information

The swimming action

The dual-lip design pairs a front lip with Nishine's Tail Drive System, giving a tight, lifelike wobble that stays responsive even to small, subtle rod movements.

When to throw it

Built for trout in small streams and mountain ponds as well as river smallmouth bass, working across a wide range of water from tiny creeks to larger pools.

How to work it

Fish it on a slow retrieve with pauses; it stays lively and keeps working even on a dead-slow or stopped presentation.

The setup it likes

A light spinning rod around UL-L power, 1000-2500 reel, 2-4lb main line and a light fluorocarbon leader suits this size well.

Straight answers

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.

When does my order leave Japan?

Orders are packed in Japan and handed to Japan Post within 3 to 8 business days. You get a tracking number by email the moment it ships.

How long does delivery take?

Australia and the US: 7 to 14 business days on Standard or Economy, 2 to 7 on Express EMS. Europe and the UK: 10 to 20 business days, 3 to 7 on EMS. Every option is priced at checkout before you pay.

Will I be charged import duty or tax?

Australia: no duty on orders under A$1,000 and GST is already in the price. US: orders under US$800 clear duty-free. EU and UK: VAT is collected at checkout so nothing is due on delivery for standard orders.

Is it genuine stock?
