ざざむしワームDAPPYオニチョロ (Zazamushi Worm DAPPY Onichoro) is Nikko Kasei's garlic-extract, keimura (UV-reactive) soft bait with a stout, chubby silhouette modeled on a large stonefly (kawagera) larva, giving it strong appeal.

Official target fish: iwana (Japanese char), yamame (masu salmon), and amago (red-spotted masu trout). It is effective when the water is murky or in bait-rich spots where a stronger appeal is needed.

Modelled on a large stonefly larva with a stout, chubby silhouette, this garlic-scented, UV-reactive bait gives strong visual and scent appeal even sitting nearly still in current.

When to throw it

Built for iwana, yamame and amago in mountain streams, and especially useful when the water is murky or in bait-rich spots where a stronger appeal is needed to stand out.

How to work it

Drift it naturally through likely holding water on a light rig, working it slowly with the current rather than retrieving it hard; small twitches can help in slower or coloured water.

The setup it likes

Pairs with a light stream or tenkara-style spinning rod, a 1000–1500 size spinning reel, and 2–4 lb fluorocarbon line tied direct with a light fluorocarbon leader.
