Description

At 250g, this is the heaviest weight in Jackall's BamBluz JIG Short line, sharing the series' left-right asymmetric profile for a quick, snappy action response that transitions straight into a fall action. Moderate jerking resistance keeps the jig easy to control in slack tide, and it can be fished from slow-pitch right through to high-pitch jerking.

As with the rest of the Short line, it comes with an original-design assist hook fitted as standard, sized to this weight so it's ready to fish for pelagic species such as yellowtail (buri) and amberjack (hiramasa) straight from the packet.

Information

The swimming action

The Short body shares the BamBluz Jig's asymmetric left-right shape for a quick action response, with moderate jerking resistance that keeps it controllable even when the tide goes slack.

When to throw it

Boat jigging for pelagic species such as yellowtail and amberjack across a wide range of current conditions, including the slower tides where a livelier-falling jig struggles, giving a jig option for the whole tide cycle.

How to work it

Versatile across retrieve styles: work it slow-pitch, one-pitch, or fast high-pitch jerking, letting the asymmetric roll-and-slide fall trigger the strike, switching styles through the day as the bite changes.

The setup it likes

Suits an offshore jigging rod matched to the jig weight, a jigging-spec spinning or overhead reel loaded with PE3-6 braid, and a fluorocarbon leader of roughly 40-60 lb depending on jig weight and target size.
