Description

The Anchovy Metal TYPE-ZERO sits in the middle of Jackall's Anchovy Metal metal jig series, tuned for a moderate flashing fall — stronger than the TYPE-I, weaker than the TYPE-II. This 80g jig is available here in nine colourways: Glow Stripe, Purple/Glow Stripe, Pink/Glow Stripe, Red Gold Stripe, Tachiuo Purple, Ore Ore Ore Kin, Stealth Black, Bay Purple/Pink Glow Edge and Strong Pink/Micro Glow.

The thick body has four distinct faces, each catching light and colour differently to give a strong visual trigger for tachiuo (Japanese cutlassfish), which hunts by sight; holographic paint runs across the front, back and both sides for flash from every angle. The weight is printed large on the eye sticker to make rotating jigs on the water straightforward, and Jackall pitches it as an easy, all-purpose jig suited to beginners.

Information

The swimming action

A thick, four-sided body carries holographic finish across all faces, giving a moderate, steady flashing fall that sits between the sharper TYPE-I and the flashier TYPE-II, so it reads well in both bright and low light.

When to throw it

An easy, all-purpose tachiuo (cutlassfish) jig that Jackall pitches at anglers new to jigging, useful as a first choice before narrowing in on a more specialised jig in the range.

How to work it

Fish it on a straightforward one-pitch jerk retrieve at a comfortable tempo, letting the four-face flash do the attracting as it falls, an easy technique for anglers new to tachiuo jigging.

The setup it likes

Suits a boat jigging rod matched to the jig weight, a compact spinning or overhead reel loaded with PE1.5-3 braid, and a fluorocarbon leader of roughly 20-40 lb depending on jig weight and target size.

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.
