Description

The Anchovy Metal TYPE-I 130g gives Jackall's tail-weighted tachiuo (largehead hairtail) jig more grunt for deeper water or stronger current. The rear-weighted body still keeps the fall tight and low-amplitude, so the extra weight goes into getting down fast rather than swinging out on the drop.

Rated for a one-pitch short jerk retrieve that searches a wide layer of water at a good tempo, and its quick, straight fall makes it a strong reaction-bite option when tachiuo are keyed onto falling bait. A large weight-marked eye sticker means it's easy to tell apart from other sizes when rotating jigs on deck.

Information

The swimming action

A tail-weighted metal jig with a rear centre of gravity that keeps the fall low-amplitude and fast, punching straight down to the target depth rather than swinging out on the drop.

When to throw it

Built for tachiuo (largehead hairtail) jigging in open water, and works across the whole depth range the Anchovy Metal series covers by swapping weights to match current and depth.

How to work it

Fish it on a one-pitch short jerk retrieve to cover a wide band of the water column at a steady tempo, or lean on the fast, straight fall alone for reaction bites when fish are chasing falling bait.

The setup it likes

Suits a boat jigging rod matched to the jig weight, a compact spinning or overhead reel loaded with PE1.5-3 braid, and a fluorocarbon leader of roughly 20-40 lb depending on jig weight and target size.

Straight answers

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.

Orders are packed in Japan and handed to Japan Post within 3 to 8 business days. You get a tracking number by email the moment it ships.

How long does delivery take?

Australia and the US: 7 to 14 business days on Standard or Economy, 2 to 7 on Express EMS. Europe and the UK: 10 to 20 business days, 3 to 7 on EMS. Every option is priced at checkout before you pay.

Will I be charged import duty or tax?

Australia: no duty on orders under A$1,000 and GST is already in the price. US: orders under US$800 clear duty-free. EU and UK: VAT is collected at checkout so nothing is due on delivery for standard orders.
