Description

The ima GUN Kichi 40g is a metal jig from ima's (GUN Three Brothers) series — the versatile all-rounder of the three, built to work equally well as a vertical jig or a casting lure.

On the fall it uses a random slide action to work vertical jigging games, while its stable casting distance also makes it effective for casting at blue-fish and flatfish. The maker built it for aggressive shore-jigging along harbour walls, casting distance that flies like a bullet, and a sharp head-sliding action.

Length: 85mm (including eye). Weight: 40g. Hook: Ise-uni #13. Main target: seabass. Recommended areas: surf, rocky shore and offshore.

This listing stocks the following official colourways: Pink, Border Blue Glow, Blue-Pink Iwashi, and Chart Back Orange Belly.

Information

The swimming action

The GUN吉 is the versatile all-rounder of ima's GUN三兄弟 metal jig trio, built to work equally well as a vertical jig or a casting lure, with a random slide action on the fall.

When to throw it

Built for aggressive shore-jigging along harbour walls, its main target is seabass and it also suits surf, rocky shore and offshore marks where extra weight is needed for distance.

How to work it

On the drop let it flutter down on the random slide fall where most bites come, and work it with a mix of vertical jigging strokes or a straight retrieve when casting, since it handles both styles equally well.

The setup it likes

A 9 to 10 foot MH shore jigging spinning rod suits the GUN吉 40g, matched with a 4000 to 5000 size reel, 20 to 30lb braid and a 30lb fluorocarbon leader.
