The swimming action

Moulded in foamed urethane resin to imitate the pellet feed used at managed trout fisheries, rolling with a steady action on the retrieve and excelling at bottom lift-and-fall work. It's built to the light, small-hook standard area-lake rules require, so it works within typical stocked-fishery tackle restrictions.

When to throw it

An all-round area-lake bait for stocked trout that are keying on pellet-shaped feed, useful as a search or follow-up pattern. It works well as a change-up bait once trout have seen the same handful of spoons and lures repeatedly through a session.

How to work it

Work it along the bottom with a lift-and-fall retrieve, or wind it steadily to let the roll draw fish up off the bottom. Keep the rod tip low and let the reel do the work, since area-lake trout often follow before committing on the take.

The setup it likes

5'6 inch-6'0 inch UL area rod, small spinning reel, 2-3 lb nylon or fluorocarbon line. A soft tip protects the fine hooks and light lines area-lake rules require while still cushioning a trout's first run on light tackle.
