Description

Flash-J Shirauo 3" (Flash-J Shirauo 3") is an ultra-thin-bodied soft plastic worm from Fish Arrow, designed to imitate the shirauo (icefish) patterns found in the Kasumigaura river system and clear reservoirs. Aluminium foil is inserted into the ultra-thin body and paired with a realistic eye for lifelike detail.

Rigged on a downshot or jig head, the thin body reacts nimbly to rod action, producing a lustrous, flash-laden swimming motion. Its slim profile also lets it be worked quickly through deep water, similar to a soft metal jig.

Supplied in packs of 5. The range is offered in six colourways: Neon Green, Wakasagi, Live Ayu, Ghost Wakasagi, Reservoir Shad and Kasumi Shirauo; this listing stocks the Live Ayu, Reservoir Shad and Kasumi Shirauo colourways.

Target species: bass.

Information

The swimming action

An ultra-thin-bodied worm imitating shirauo (icefish) patterns, with aluminium foil inserted into the thin body for a lustrous, flash-laden swimming motion that reacts nimbly to rod action. The action holds up across the full colour range on offer, so casting distance and feel stay consistent whichever finish you pick.

When to throw it

Suited to clear reservoirs and river systems where icefish are a key forage species for bass. It suits the same cover-fishing and reservoir bank situations that UK and European bass anglers already use similar-sized baits for.

How to work it

Rig on a downshot or jig head and work it quickly through deep water in a manner similar to a soft metal jig, or slow it down for a subtler presentation.

The setup it likes

6'6 inch-7'0 inch ML spinning rod, 2500-3000 reel, 6-8 lb fluorocarbon. This gives enough backbone to drive trebles or a single hook home on the strike while staying light enough to cast the bait accurately all day.
