Description

The Head Shaker Heavy 5 is a 5-inch soft plastic swimbait sold in packs of 5, built around a shad tail whose joint shape, thickness and angle were fine-tuned so it kicks hard even on an ultra-slow retrieve while staying stable at speed. Flat-sided cups along the body grab and push water, generating a strong vibration that feeds into a distinctive head-wobbling action.

The body swims true across the full range of retrieve speeds, from a super-slow no-sinker crawl to a fast wind, and holds its posture through weighted-hook rigs and swimming jig trailers, making it easy to control the depth it runs at. This heavier, denser build casts further and gets down faster than the standard Head Shaker 5.

Information

The swimming action

A shad tail tuned for joint shape, thickness and angle kicks hard even on an ultra-slow retrieve while staying stable at speed, and flat-sided body cups grab and push water for a strong vibration that feeds a distinctive head-wobbling action.

When to throw it

The heavier, denser build casts further and sinks faster than the standard Head Shaker 5, suiting bass anglers who need to reach distant targets or get the bait down quickly on weighted-hook rigs and swimming jig trailers.

How to work it

It swims true from a super-slow no-sinker crawl through to a fast wind and holds its posture on weighted hooks or jig trailers, making it easy to keep in the strike zone at a chosen depth.

The setup it likes

A medium-heavy spinning or casting rod around 7ft with a 3000-4000 spinning reel or 7:1 baitcaster and 12-16lb fluorocarbon suits fishing this swimbait on a weighted hook or as a jig trailer.
