Information

The swimming action

The double willow leaf set-up runs different blade shapes front and rear — a narrower, faster-spinning blade ahead of a wider blade behind — cutting the vibration loss double-willow spinnerbaits can suffer from blade interference and producing a crisp, tight thump. Beads lock the blades in place and a low-centre-of-gravity head keeps the bait tracking true.

When to throw it

This tight, crisp thump suits clear-to-stained water where bass are keying on a natural baitfish flash rather than heavy vibration. It is a good choice worked along grass edges, points and open banks through the warmer months.

How to work it

Retrieve at a steady, moderate pace to let the paired willow blades settle into a consistent rhythm, or slow-roll it along deeper structure. The light-wire arm protects the hook point through the retrieve for a good hook-up rate.

The setup it likes

Evergreen recommend a medium-light to medium 6'0"-6'6" baitcasting rod with a 6.3:1-7.1:1 reel, running 8-16lb fluorocarbon or 10-20lb nylon line.
