Description

The Bass Enemy Stick 5 is a 5 inch flat-side soft plastic stickbait from Evergreen, sold six to a pack. Like the smaller sizes in the range, its flattened profile reads as a baitfish silhouette from side on, above and below, and the softer body material lets it curl naturally through the fall and retrieve. Evergreen's shrimp, squid and baitfish special formula scent is mixed into every bait.

Built for bass, the flat-side body rolls as it swims, flashing light off its sides to imitate the flicker of a fleeing baitfish — a step up in size from the Bass Enemy Stick 3 and 4 for bulkier presentations.

Information

The swimming action

The flattened, baitfish-shaped profile rolls as it swims, flashing light off its sides to mimic a fleeing baitfish, with the softer body material curling naturally through the fall and retrieve, scaled up from the Stick 3 and 4 for bulkier presentations.

When to throw it

A bigger-profile bass stickbait for situations calling for more bulk and displacement than the Stick 3 and 4 sizes, suited to stained water or when targeting larger bass keyed on bigger baitfish.

How to work it

Fish weightless with a twitch-and-pause retrieve to trigger the side-flashing roll, or rig lightly weighted for a controlled subsurface presentation. The larger body pushes more water on the fall than the smaller Stick sizes.

The setup it likes

A medium to medium-heavy baitcasting rod with 12-14lb line suits weightless presentations at this size. A wide-gap offset hook around 4/0 to 5/0 fits the flat-sided body and helps with hook-up ratio on bigger fish.
