Information

The swimming action

The flat-sided, salt-rich body rolls softly and naturally through the water, while the ribbed flat pintail generates constant micro-vibration independent of the retrieve speed. A moulded weed-guard tab on the tail can be trimmed or left on to fine-tune how much the tail kicks.

When to throw it

Sized to imitate small baitfish such as wakasagi, ayu and shirauo, suiting bass keyed on small forage across a range of water types. Works equally through cover on a Texas rig or as a subtler mid-strolling swimbait presentation in open water.

How to work it

Fish it on jig head, neko, wacky, Texas, free or Carolina rigs depending on the cover and depth. For mid-strolling work, a slow, steady retrieve with occasional pauses lets the pintail's constant vibration do most of the triggering.

The setup it likes

A medium-light to medium spinning rod with 6-8lb fluorocarbon suits neko and wacky rig work, while a medium baitcasting rod with 10-12lb line handles Texas and Carolina rigs through cover.
