Eclipse x Blazeye Strike Evoroots 120SF

The Strike Evoroots 120SF is a slow-floating, roll-action minnow tuned for long-distance casting, producing a steady rolling swim built to be worked confidently from a distant surf, rock or large-river shoreline. Because it holds a slow-floating trim rather than sinking or suspending, it can also be dead-sticked briefly between retrieves without disappearing from the strike zone, adding a further option beyond a straight swim.

Built for long-range shore casting, it suits open surf beaches, rocky points and wide river mouths where distance to reach feeding seabass matters as much as the action once it's fishing. It suits sessions where reaching fish holding well off a beach or point is the main challenge, making distance as important a factor as the lure's action once it lands.

A straight, steady retrieve is enough to bring out the roll action at range; add occasional pauses to let it hang and rise slightly given its slow-floating buoyancy. A slight speed-up followed by a return to steady can help trigger a following fish, since the roll action becomes marginally more pronounced as retrieve speed increases.

A medium-power, long-casting seabass spinning rod, a 3000-4000 reel, PE1-1.2 braid and a 14-18 lb fluorocarbon leader suit the 120mm, 22.5g Strike Evoroots and its #2 hook. A rod built for genuine distance casting, rather than one optimised purely for close-range feel, gets the most out of this lure's long-casting design.
