Daysprout Area Jeffrey Rise Marker

A realistic-profile topwater lure with a W side-arm hook system, built for consistent casting distance and buoyancy. It is tuned for its ripple pattern and diving angle on the surface, and can also be worked just beneath it to throw off a stronger vibration.

Set up for managed trout fisheries during weather-driven feeding windows and set pellet-feed times, including the depths of winter when trout still respond to surface commotion at the right moment. It fits comfortably into a rotation alongside other area-trout lures across a normal pond session, from the first cast after stocking through to fish that have settled and grown more selective.

Fish it as a dedicated surface lure with a walk-and-pause retrieve to hold the ripple pattern, or bury it just under the film for extra vibration when fish are reluctant to break the surface. Match the retrieve to water clarity and light — slower and subtler in bright, clear conditions, a touch faster and more animated when the pond is coloured or overcast.

Pair with a light area-trout rod around 5-6ft, a 1000-2000 reel, and 2-3lb fluorocarbon or nylon main line suited to a sub-2g topwater bait. Round drag settings off soft, since stocked trout are typically lightly hooked in the mouth and a hard drag setting risks pulling small hooks free during the fight.
