Information

The swimming action

A fixed, rigid centre of gravity gives the Sugar Minnow Slim 70F stable, wide-sliding action on a floating platform, staying consistent across a range of retrieve speeds rather than breaking down when worked hard.

When to throw it

Built for area-lake and pond trout fishing against wary, well-educated fish that have seen plenty of lures. A floating minnow of this type suits sight-fishing cruising or rising trout and general searching across a managed pond.

How to work it

Work it with a steady wide-slide retrieve, easing off to let it sit and float back up on the pause; the barbless single hook that ships as standard makes for quick, low-damage releases on catch-and-release waters.

The setup it likes

An area-trout rod rated to roughly 0.5-3g, a 1000 spinning reel and 2-3lb nylon or fluorocarbon straight through suit this lure's light 3.5g weight and the fine tippet most area-trout venues require.
