Description

T.T.SHAD 6.7inch is the largest size in Bait Breath's Triangle Tail Shad series, a paddle-tail soft plastic with a flat-backed body sold in 9 colourways, three lures to a pack. The triangle tail and flat back work together to produce a wide, wobbling swimming action, and the body resists spinning on a fast retrieve when rigged weedless on a Texas rig, no-sinker rig or as a swim jig trailer.

It is designed to cover water from the surface down to deep structure across a range of rigging styles, with Bait Breath recommending it on a jighead, swimming jig, rubber jig, Texas rig or no-sinker rig.

Information

The swimming action

T.T.SHAD pairs a flat-backed body with a triangular tail that stops the bait rolling over on a fast retrieve, producing a wide, wobbling paddle-tail swim across its size range. The overall profile stays consistent and predictable cast after cast, which matters when fish are keying on a specific size or cadence rather than anything flashy or erratic.

When to throw it

Bait Breath's own catch record spans flathead, flounder, greenling, rockfish, mebaru, seabass, cod, hairtail, bass, perch, pike, trout and catfish, making it a genuinely multi-species option in fresh or salt water. Anglers who fish the same marks regularly tend to keep one rigged as a default option for exactly these conditions rather than switching in and out.

How to work it

Fish it on a jig head, swimming jig, rubber jig, Texas rig or weightless, working a straight retrieve to show off the wide tail kick or slowing down for bottom-hugging species. Most bites come down to getting the pace and pause right for the conditions on the day, so it is worth experimenting rather than settling on one fixed cadence.

The setup it likes

A 6.5-7.5ft medium spinning or baitcast rod scaled to size, a 2000-3000 reel, 8-16lb line or PE0.8-1.5 with a fluorocarbon leader suit these sizes. This combination keeps the outfit light enough for repeated casting through a full session while leaving enough backbone in reserve to turn a solid fish away from structure.
