Description

Rayz Alter is TENRYU's free-style area trout rod series, built to play across still-water lakes and ponds through to natural mountain streams without being tied to one field.

Blanks follow a regular-taper design in the Rayz lineage, finished in a vivid dark red, with specs optimized by use across ultra-low-modulus carbon models, Magnaflex-construction tubular tips and carbon-solid tips. Guides are K-guides with titanium frames and SiC rings, compatible with nylon, fluorocarbon, ultra-fine PE and ester lines. Grips combine natural wood with Nishijin-weave carbon pipe, finished with an original rubber end cap; wood grain varies piece to piece as a natural material.

This listing stocks 5 models from the Rayz Alter spinning range: RZA5102S-LLT (Variable Crankin'), RZA5112S-MT (Area Jerkin'), RZA602S-MLMT (Midge Minnowin'), RZA612S-LT (Midge Crankin') and RZA622S-ULS (Midge Spoonin').

Target species: trout.

Information

The blank

Ultra-low-modulus carbon, Magnaflex tubular tips or carbon-solid tips depending on model give the Rayz Alter a lively, responsive feel tuned to small lure presentations, with titanium K-guides compatible with nylon, fluorocarbon, ultra-fine PE and ester lines.

What it's built for

A free-style area trout series built to move between still-water lakes and ponds and natural mountain streams without being tied to one field, with each model named for its intended technique — crankin', jerkin', minnowin' or spoonin'.

How it fishes

Match retrieve style to the model — a variable crank-and-pause on the RZA5102S-LLT, sharp jerks on the RZA5112S-MT, or a slow, precise wind on the midge-focused models — to trigger area trout holding at varying depths.

The setup it likes

Pair with a 1000–2000 spinning reel spooled with 2–4 lb fluorocarbon or ester line suited to area-trout tackle regulations at the venue being fished.
