Description

BRIGADE Flip (ブリゲイドフリップ) is TENRYU's "Utility Egi Rod Series" from the shore lineup, built to maximize squid-egi fishing while also covering light-tackle shore jigging, rockfish and wind-game situations.

Magna-Flex construction at the top section enables tip-run technique from shore, with a C.N.T-reinforced butt and NISHIJIN textile at the joint. Guides are K-guide with stainless steel frames and SiC rings, and NISHIJIN textile covers the fore grip and reel seat. Target species: cuttlefish, cutlass fish, horse mackerel and rockfish, fished with squid lures and jig heads.

This listing stocks all three BRIGADE Flip models: the BGF832S-MMH (2.51m/8'3", MMH power, regular action, max 35g / Egi 4.0) - specialised for deep, heavy-current water and large squid via the hard-jerk method, also handling 18-28g rigs and 30g metal jigs for cutlass fish and Spanish mackerel; the BGF852S-M (2.57m/8'5", M power, regular action, max 30g / Egi 3.5) - the standard tip-run model for 10-21g rigs and 20g metal jigs; and the BGF872S-MLM (2.62m/8'7", MLM power, regular action, max 25g / Egi 3.0) - a super-light game rod with a soft tip for jerking slackline and small-diameter guides for fine line, handling 7-14g rigs.

Magna-Flex construction at the tip gives the Brigade Flip a sensitive, load-responsive feel for tip-run egi technique, with a C.N.T-reinforced butt adding backbone to drive the hook home and control squid or rockfish on the way in.

What it's built for

TENRYU's utility egi rod series covers shore squid fishing along with light-tackle shore jigging, rockfish and windy conditions — the BGF832S-MMH for deep, heavy-current water and large squid, the BGF852S-M as the standard tip-run model, and the BGF872S-MLM for super-light finesse work in calmer conditions.

How it fishes

Work egi lures with sharp jerks followed by a controlled fall on slack line, and switch to a lift-and-fall retrieve for metal jigs when targeting rockfish or cutlass fish on the same rod.

The setup it likes

Pair with a 2500–3000 spinning reel spooled with PE 0.6–1.0 and a 2–3 lb fluorocarbon leader for egi fishing, or a slightly heavier leader when working metal jigs.
