X-wrapped blanks and a regular taper give the Boat Gamer BM a smooth, absorbing bend that soaks up a fish's first run without losing rod control from a boat. The Fuji Top SiC tip guide keeps casts smooth with minnows, bladed jigs and metal vibes at close-to-mid range.

What it's built for

Aimed at bay-area boat fishing for seabass, Spanish mackerel, rockfish, pelagics and flatfish, working structure such as bridge pylons, breakwaters and current lines. The M power on the S67M and S70M+ suits everyday bay conditions rather than heavy offshore work.

How it fishes

Work minnows and lipless cranks on a steady swim, and bladed jigs and metal vibes on a lift-and-fall retrieve close to structure. The regular action holds hook-ups well through short, sharp headshakes typical of boat-caught seabass and rockfish.
