Information

The swimming action

The QM is Rodio Craft's core area-trout spoon shape, holding a steady, moderate flutter on the fall and a tight wobble on a slow retrieve. At 2.8g it sits in the middle of the QM range, giving a longer cast and a steady, stable retrieve without sinking so fast it is hard to keep in the strike zone.

When to throw it

An all-purpose area-trout pond spoon for building a size and colour rotation, useful whenever fish want a steady, unhurried flutter rather than a fast-sinking or erratic action.

How to work it

Work it on a slow straight retrieve to hold the flutter, or count it down and lift-and-fall to search different depths through the water column.

The setup it likes

Suits a UL to L area-trout rod, a 1000–2500 spinning reel, 2–4 lb fluorocarbon or nylon main line and a short fluorocarbon leader.
