Information

The swimming action

The Babel WZ is a wider, heavier variant of Rob Lure's Babel Z shape, at 14.3 mm and 1.2 g. The broader blade slows the fall compared with the standard Babel Z, giving a wobbling flutter on the drop rather than a fast, flat spiral.

When to throw it

Suited to stocked area-lake trout fisheries, and pitched by the maker as a more forgiving, all-round option than the standard Babel Z — useful for anglers newer to Rob Lure's Babel series, or when a slower-falling profile is wanted over deeper water or holding fish.

How to work it

Fish it mainly on the fall: cast, hold a controlled semi-slack line and watch for a take as it flutters down. A slow retrieve or occasional twitch can also be worked once it has settled near the target depth.

The setup it likes

Suits a light area-trout spinning rod (UL–L power), a 1000–2000 size reel, and 2–4 lb fluorocarbon or monofilament main line fished direct without a separate leader.

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.
