Information

The swimming action

A lipped sinking pencil that holds a tight rolling wobble on a straight retrieve and glides horizontally on the sink, staying stable even in wind and current.

When to throw it

An all-round inshore seabass lure for river mouths, harbours and open beaches, effective from low light through to bright conditions when fished at the right depth.

How to work it

Fish with a slow, steady retrieve or add occasional twitches and pauses to trigger following fish, adjusting retrieve speed to keep the lure just under the surface disturbance.

The setup it likes

A medium-heavy spinning rod rated for 10-40g lures, a 3000-4000 reel, 1-1.2 PE braid or 12-16 lb monofilament with a fluorocarbon leader.
