Megabass S-Crank 1.5

The squarebill that hunts cover instead of dodging it

  • Patented slalom action wanders off-line at speed but always tracks back to centre, triggering reaction strikes
  • High-floating squarebill design deflects off cover and shrugs off hang-ups around docks, riprap and flooded brush
  • Works the productive 0-5ft zone at both slow-rolled and burned retrieve speeds without losing its wobble

What makes it different

Built to fish, not just to sell

The swimming action

A tight, hard-hitting wobble pairs with an erratic hunting motion built into the square bill's patented geometry — the bait wanders laterally off a straight retrieve line but always corrects back to centre, mimicking a fleeing baitfish rather than a metronomic crank. That wander is what draws reaction strikes from fish sitting tight to cover.

When to throw it

Prime for shallow, cover-dense water from pre-spawn through late spring: docks, riprap banks, laydowns and flooded brush in the 0-5ft zone, and equally effective on offshore stumps and shell in summer when burned past isolated targets.

How to work it

A steady moderate retrieve lets the slalom action work on its own, but don't be afraid to rip it free after bill contact with cover — the deflection off wood or rock is often what triggers the bite; slow it down in cold water and speed up to burn it past cover in warmer months.

The setup it likes

A 7'-7'3" medium-heavy composite or fibreglass crankbait rod with a parabolic bend cushions the treble hooks on a hard strike, matched to a 5.4:1-6.3:1 reel and 12-15lb fluorocarbon for depth control and forgiveness around cover.
