Description

The Megabass DESTROYER P5 (Destroyer P5) is the fifth generation of Megabass's flagship bass casting rod series, built on the 5-D Graphite System: five prepreg patterns engineered separately for vertical, horizontal, and oblique-axis loading plus elongation and elasticity, combined with a low-resin build to maximise performance for minimum blank weight. Every P5 rod uses the DESTROYER HEAD LOCKING SYSTEM 3, a lightweight machined-aluminium reel seat structure that tightens blank-to-reel rigidity and vibration transfer, paired with an IBCS ergonomic grip developed from over 2,000 hours of field testing and Fuji titanium-frame guides on minimal-wrap thread work.

This listing stocks three P5 models:

F2-60X (CLIFFHANGER THRILLING) - 6'0", REGULAR action, 1/8-1/2oz lure weight, 6-12lb line, 88g. A bait finesse rod for pinpoint casting deep into cover, built for pulling oversized fish out of heavy cover on a light-action blank.
F4-66X (CYCLONE) - 6'6", REGULAR action, 1/4-7/8oz lure weight, 8-20lb line, 99g. Handles small spinnerbaits through to soft stickbaits and medium plugs such as the POPMAX and GIANT DOG-X.
F6.1/2-67X (Tachyonshaft) - 6'7", REGULAR action, 1/4-1.1/4oz lure weight, 12-25lb line, 131g. A reaction-bite jig rod descended from the original DESTROYER G-AX, built for the fastest, hardest-hitting hookset.

Information

The blank

The 5-D Graphite System layers five separate prepreg patterns for vertical, horizontal and oblique loading, giving the DESTROYER P5 a low-resin, lightweight blank with a distinct feel across its Regular-action range.

What it's built for

Covers bait finesse casting into cover, medium-lure reaction work, and fast, hard-hitting reaction-bite jig fishing depending on the model chosen.

How it fishes

Fish each model to its role — a pinpoint pitch and slow work for bait finesse, a steady reaction retrieve for the mid-power model, and a sharp, fast hookset for the jig-focused model.

The setup it likes

Pair with a bass baitcasting reel, 6–25lb fluorocarbon matched to the model's line rating.
