Description

JETTROW MID (ジェットローミッド) is a mid-layer specialised version of Jackall's JETTROW system, built for situations where baitfish are present but not showing surface boils and fish are holding mid-column. Unlike the original JETTROW, its wings are reversed to generate downward pressure instead of lift, giving the lure strong range-keeping ability at depth.

The tenbin (spreader-bar) shaped main body handles the cast and draws fish in with a Colorado blade mounted at the tail; a shirasu-sized "buddy" lure trailing behind on a curved, ring-jointed hook is the actual strike target. Available in 35g and 45g sinking sizes, both rigged to roughly 160cm total length and castable comfortably on rods around 10ft — 35g suits surf and low jetties, 45g suits high jetties, offshore breakwaters, and stronger wind or rough weather.

To fish it: cast out, sink to the desired depth (or the bottom) while thumbing the spool, then retrieve steadily; varying the retrieve speed or pausing helps when bites are slow. Target species: 青物 (aoumono, pelagic jacks).

The swimming action

JETTROW MID reverses its wings against the original JETTROW to generate downward pressure instead of lift, so the tenbin-shaped main body sinks and holds a mid-column depth while a shirasu-sized buddy lure on a ring-jointed hook swims naturally behind it as the strike target.

When to throw it

Useful when baitfish are present but not showing surface boils and aomono (pelagic jacks) are holding mid-water off jetties, breakwaters or surf — the 35g suits low jetties and calmer water, the 45g suits high jetties and rougher conditions.

How to work it
