Description

The Jackall Bleeker Toppy 50F (Bleeker Toppy 50F) is a 50mm, 5.6g floating pencil popper for topwater kurodai (black seabream) fishing.

A downsized version of the Bleeker Toppy, it was developed for situations with picky feeding or small bait. Its tail-weighted design improves casting distance and operability, delivering a high-response dog-walking and popping action.

Information

The swimming action

A jaw-mounted fin sharpens the response of the dog-walk action so it keeps working cleanly through wind, waves and current, while tail-weighted construction gives a stable flight attitude for long, accurate casts.

When to throw it

A topwater pencil popper for kurodai (chinu) fishing, suited to calm-to-choppy inshore water around breakwaters, river mouths and rocky shore where a soft popping sound and a walking action can call fish from a distance.

How to work it

Vary line tension and rod input to shift between a wide, fast-tempo search and a tight, patient head-shake worked on one spot; the popping action stays effective and resists fouling even in rough water.

The setup it likes

A light-to-medium chinu or light saltwater spinning rod around 7-8ft, a 2500-3000 size reel, PE0.6-1 braid and a 8-12lb fluorocarbon leader suit this lure's casting weight, target species and finesse-friendly retrieve.
